The purpose of this data capture was to record species distribution and details of bat roosts, to assist CCW's conservation work. In particular, to provide information when dealing with development proposals, to support the monitoring and notification of SSSIs, and to aid with the monitoring and reporting on the status and trends of protected bat species. All species names and dates have been validated during transfer process to Recorder 2002. Data recorder names are not stored electronically, although these could be found within the paper files. Since then this data and custodianship of the data has been given to Cofnod to manage as a top copy for NRW.
