Inventory of British Lakes (UKLakes)

This is an inventory of lakes in Great Britain derived mainly from Geographical Information System (GIS) datasets. It is linked with a risk based prioritisation protocol for standing waters in Great Britain, which will be used in Lake Habitat Action Plans (HAP) and Water Framework Directive (WFD) work. The purpose of this data capture was to develop the required lake typology under the Water Framework Directive. This dataset is held by Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH).
