The weighted scores were then combined to yield an overall risk score indicating the strength of evidence that the surface and groundwater is polluted by phosphate/nitrate from modelled land use diffuse sources. The scores and weighting applied are similar to those used for the 2016 review of groundwater NVZs. The GIS model was used to divide Wales into 1km grid squares.
