Aberdovey Sand Dune drone survey 2021
This drone survey data was collected as part of a Section 16 Management Agreement (Environment (Wales) Act 2016) between Aberdovey Golf Club and NRW. The aim was to have baseline data on the sand dune line and produce an up-to-date accurate map of the current coastline. The survey will be repeated at the end of this agreement / start of a renewal.

A site visit and drone flights was undertaken on 25th and 26th May 2021. The survey collected aerial imagery of the dunes. The drone survey was carried out using a DJI Mavic 2, with the Pix 4D mapping software. A total of 2466 images were taken on the site visit and inputted into Pix 4D software in order to stitch together the images. A number of ground GPS control points were also taken in order to ensure images produced were accurately mapped.
