What the map shows: The map shows areas where management action could be taken to reduce the risk for faecal coliforms entering into coastal and transitional waterbodies, as well as lakes and rivers. Management opportunities considered are fencing and/or hedges to prevent direct access to water courses by livestock, and woodland planting to form riparian or drainage channel shelter belts. For all opportunity types, those falling into upslope areas of sites with a known problem with faecal coliforms are considered priority opportunities.
