Risk of Flooding from Rivers and Seas (RoFRS) Postcode Flood Likelihood Category
This dataset is a product of a national assessment of flood risk for England produced using local expertise. This dataset is produced using [Risk of Flooding from Rivers and Sea] which shows the chance of flooding from rivers and/or the sea, based on cells of 50m. Each cell is allocated one of four flood risk categories, taking into account flood defences and their condition. This dataset uses OS address data and Royal Mail postcode data to show how many properties are in each of four flood risk categories in each postcode, based simply on the category allocated to the cell that each property is in.

This dataset is now static with no planned updates. Therefore the information contained within this has the potential to be out of date. The RoFRS spatial grid (NRW_DS116276) will continue to be updated on an infrequent basis, and should be used as the most up to date source of information. This dataset is supplied on request under an open government licence. - This dataset is indicative of the scale and distribution of the likelihood of flooding and therefore we advise that viewing at more detailed scales may not be appropriate. - Because of the way they have been produced and the fact that they are indicative, the maps are not appropriate to act as the sole evidence for any specific planning or regulatory decision or assessment of risk in relation to flooding at any scale without further supporting studies or evidence. - This data is not raw, factual or measured. It comprises of estimated or modelled results showing expected outcomes based on the data available to us.
