The original aim of the project was to monitor the condition of some of the Annex I habitats for which the site (Preseli SAC) has been designated against performance indicators provided by CCW. These habitats are Northern Atlantic wet heaths with Erica tetralix (H4010), European dry heaths (H4030) and Depressions on peat substrates of the Rhynchosporion (H7150). The monitoring follows on from a detailed habitat survey of the site undertaken jointly by CCW's Phase II survey team and under contract by earlier in 2005.
