The purpose of this data capture was to survey and evaluate in terms of their nature conservation interest all predominantly broadleaved woods in North Wales using nationally developed standard methods and evaluation criteria. The data collected helped to identify the 'best' examples and assisted in management and protection of the woods by making it possible to view them in context within an overall classification.
