The dataset includes maps and diagrams of biotopes, list of regional biotopes referred to in survey and target notes. The purpose of this data capture was to help assess the effects of oil on shore biotopes, communities and species over whole shore areas, to provide information on biotopes, habitat, communities or species which will assist in the development of future monitoring or surveillance strategies, and to investigate the role of Phase 1 studies in surveillance and monitoring of rocky intertidal areas. Surveys were concentrated on the open coast of South Pembrokeshire, from West Angle Bay to Manorbier. All survey carried out by experienced surveyors.
