The principal objective of the survey was to provide a suitable base for future monitoring and also as part of CCW's commitment to reporting on the suitability of the estuary description as a Site of Special Scientific Importance (SSSI) and inclusion into the Menai Strait and Conwy Bay possible Special Area of Conservation (pSAC). This dataset consists of the results from a National Vegetation Classification (NVC) survey used as a basis for community definition in the saltmarsh habitats of the North Conwy Estuary. Data collected by trained personnel, digitised by contractors, validated by NRW, corrections made by contractors, validated again by NRW, corrections made in-house in conjunction with relevant salt marsh specialist.
