Non Native Species Data - Common Slipper Shell (Crepidula fornicata) around Wales
The dataset contains a series of records of the non-native slipper limpet Crepidula fornicata, around Wales. The records have been extracted from the Phase 1 Intertidal survey from target notes and site species lists and collated with ad-hoc records recorded by Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) staff or supplied by third parties, along with records extracted from CCW's Marine Recorder data holdings. The purpose of this collation is to monitor the spread of non-native marine species across Wales.

This is a collation of recorder therefore methods differ depending on the individual source survey, e.g. Phase 1 Intertidal methodologies, Marine Nature Conservation Review (MNCR), Phase 2 methodologies, Marine monitoring methodologies. This dataset is maintained and added to as an excel spreadsheet by MFSG staff within NRW. A GIS layer is generated from the excel spreadsheet and from Marine Recorder when an update is required.
