Welsh Government: Phytophthora Core Disease Zone (3rd Party Data)
Phytophthora ramorum (P. ramorum) is a fungus-like pathogen called a water mould. It causes extensive damage and death to a wide range of trees and other plants. This spatial data is owned by Welsh Government (WG) and shows the boundary for the Phytophthora ramorum disease Core Disease Zone. The boundary data is used to determine the Statutory Action required for infected sites and is based on OS data for physical features such as roads, rivers. Natural Resources Wales (NRW) draft this on-behalf of WG who then quality check the data and get it signed off for use by the Welsh Tree and Plant Health Steering Group. The master or top copy of this dataset is held by Welsh Government and a copy is retained by the NRW Tree Health Team.
