JNCC Acoustic Multibeam Echosounder Survey of two sites off North West Anglesey 2009 (3rd Party Data)
In summer 2009, JNCC commissioned Cefas to carry out a multibeam echosounder survey within two Areas of Search (AoS) for offshore Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) off the North West coast of Anglesey. These areas were selected by JNCC as historic data and evidence suggested that Modiolus modiolus beds, (a subtype of Annex I reef), had been recorded within these areas. The purpose of this data capture was to obtain multibeam (MBES) coverage of two areas of search, in order to carry out seabed interpretation and identify potential drop-camera locations for possible Modiolus modiolus biogenic reef presence. The interpretation of these data was to be used to identify potential drop-camera locations.
