Register of Historic Landscapes: Historic Landscape Character Areas (3rd Party Data)
Care should be taken when using this data. The Register of Landscapes of Historic Interest in Wales has been divided into several areas called Historic Landscape Character Areas. This dataset contains the boundaries of these areas. The dataset is jointly owned by the Archaeological Trusts and Cadw. Cadw is the Welsh Governments historic environment service working for an accessible and well-protected historic environment for Wales. The datasets are essential for NRW in planning casework, to determine if particular developments will have an impact on a historic landscape. In collaboration with Cadw and the Archaeological Trusts jointly promotes the use of the Register and the Historic Landscape Character areas in the planning and development system, in which historic landscapes are a 'material consideration'.
